Wrestling Appoints Josh Koscheck as Assistant Coach

Four-time Division I All-American to join Jim Beichner's staff

BUFFALO, NY - Josh Koscheck has been hired as an assistant coach for the University at Buffalo wrestling team, as announced by Head Coach Jim Beichner.

"We are really excited to have a young coach like Josh join our program," Beichner said. "We feel that he will make an immediate impact with our wrestlers, especially our upper weights. Hiring a coach of Josh's caliber is yet another symbol of UB's commitment to wrestling."

Koscheck comes from Penn State, where he was a graduate administrative assistant for the wrestling team. He was also the Nittany Lion Wrestling Club coach.

As a wrestler, Koscheck had a very decorated career at Edinboro University. In 2001, he went 42-0 and was the national champion in the 174 lb. weight class. He was a four-time Division I All-American and a four-time Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Champion. He was honored as the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Wrestler of the Year three times and was twice named the Eastern Wrestling League Wrestler of the Year. Koscheck was equally successful in the classroom as he was a four-time Academic Achievement Award winner.

The Lemont, PA native earned a bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice from Edinboro in 2001. He is currently working on his master's degree in Secondary Counseling at Edinboro.
