Bulls Crush Opponents to Conclude Weekend Action

BOONE, NC - The University at Buffalo wrestling team concluded its weekend schedule in North Carolina with a pair of easy victories on Sunday afternoon. UB defeated Spartanburg Methodist, 47-6, in its opening match and then downed Appalachian State, 29-6, to finish the opening weekend of dual meet competition with a 4-1 record.

In the contest against Spartanburg Methodist, UB won the first nine bouts with two matches ending in falls, two in technical falls and three forfeits. Dan Bishop at 125 pounds and Desi Green at 149 pounds both pinned their opponents in the first period. Mark Lewandowski at 141 and John-Martin Cannon won their matches on technical falls.

Against the Mountaineers, UB scored wins in all but two weight classes. Green recorded a technical fall at 149 while Andrew Stella needed overtime to defeat Mike Kessler, 2-0, in the 141-pound match.

The Bulls compete next at Cornell's Body Bar Invitational on Saturday, November 22.
