Bulls Sign Two Outstanding WrestlersBUFFALO, NY - Head wrestling coach Jim Beichner announced today that a pair of student-athletes - Mark McKnight (McDonald, PA/South Fayette) and Dana Gingerich (Spring Grove, PA/DeLone Catholic) - will continue their academic and wrestling careers at the University at Buffalo.
Both McKnight and Gingerich were Pennsylvania state champions last year and have an opportunity to make an immediate impact in the wrestling program. McKnight is a three-time state place-winner at South Fayette High School, finishing second as a sophomore, third as a junior and winning the 119-pound championship as a senior. He is currently ranked third in the nation at 119 pounds. He projects as a 125-pounder at the collegiate level. Gingerich, meanwhile, was second in the state as a junior and won the 130-pound title this past winter at DeLone Catholic High School. He will most likely wrestle at 141 pounds at Buffalo. "Both of these wrestlers are very high-level athletes and should add a great deal of talent to
our lower weights," said Beichner. "We are very excited as a staff to add these two wrestlers to our
2003-04 team." |
