BUFFALO, NY University at Buffalo junior Gary Cooper (Adams, NY/South Jefferson) was recognized as the final Mid-American Conference Wrestler of the Week for the 2001-02 season. He finished last week with three victories, including two wins by fall. Cooper competes at the 174-pound weight class.

Last Tuesday, Cooper pinned Slippery Rock's John Hawn just two minutes and five seconds into the match. At the American Duals on Sunday, Cooper continued his success. Only 23 seconds into his first match, he pinned Aaron Baker of American University. Cooper later won a 10-7 decision over Old Dominion's John Adams.

This season, Cooper leads the Bulls in both overall falls (6) and dual meet falls (3). He is 18-8 this season and has a 7-3 mark in dual meet competition.
