Desi Green Earns National Ranking at 149 Ranked 18th in the nation by Intermat/NWCA/NWMA BUFFALO, NY – University at Buffalo redshirt-freshman Desi Green has earned his spot in the latest Intermat/NWCA/NWMA NCAA Division I Individual Rankings, joining the rank of the top 149-pound wrestlers in the nation at the 18th spot.
On February 2, Green was named the MAC Wrestler of the Week for his 4-3 decision with only four seconds remaining over tenth-ranked, Steve Brown of #9 Central Michigan. This season, Green is currently leading the Bulls in takedowns (60), dual meet falls (3), overall wins (33) and dual meet wins (17). He is also tied for the lead in technical falls (1) and reversals (4). Green is tied for fifth place in team history for most dual meet wins in a season and is tied for 13th place for most overall wins in a season. He is also in third place for most takedowns by a Bull in a season. Green and the Bulls (9-9, MAC 1-3) will be in action on Saturday, February 21 when they face MAC opponent, Northern Illinois University (4-8, MAC 0-4) in their home finale with the first match set for 1 pm. The Bulls will then travel to Binghamton University (12-14) on Sunday, February 22 to wrapup their dual meet schedule with the first match set for 4 pm.
