The Bulls quickly found themselves down 12-0 to the Golden Flashes following a fall at 133, sandwiched by decisions at 125 and 141. Majerus would score an escape followed by a takedown by Simpson with eight seconds remaining in the match. Majerus was awarded riding points following the close match however, lost in a 4-3 decision.

The most grueling match came at 174 as Rock faced a familiar opponent in Kent State's Chris Estep. Rock and Estep wrestled in a 3-2 decision in favor of Estep at this year's Body Bar Invitational. Throughout three periods of action, each wrestled scored one point a piece in the form of an escape. The match remained tied following the first overtime. In the second overtime, Rock scored an escape for a 2-1 lead. Estep answered back with an escape in the third overtime. The match would be settled in the third overtime in the form of a tiebreaker. In the tiebreaker, Rock shot into Estep, scoring a takedown for the 4-2 decision.

"Our young men train hard everyday and fight hard in every match. We are young and will continue to learn that every match is a tough fight", said head coach Jim Beichner.

In recognition of his dominant major decision, Green was named the US Army National Guard Gladiator of the Match.
