BUFFALO, NY - With three showdown matches between the Mid-American Conference's top wrestlers, Sunday's wrestling dual meet between the University at Buffalo and USA Today/NWCA's sixth-ranked Central Michigan will have an added layer of exposure as it will be broadcast on WLVL-AM 1340.

The broadcast, which starts at 1:00 pm live from Alumni Arena and will also be carried on the BuffaloBulls.com via Teamline, will feature play-by-play by women's basketball color analyst Paul Vecchio along with color commentary from legendary coach Ed Michael. Michael, who won a school-record 213 dual meets as coach of the Bulls from 1970-91, led Buffalo to its only national championship in any sport, as he guided his wrestlers to the 1977-78 NCAA Division III title.

Sunday's match features a host of potential MAC Championship bouts, as Buffalo (8-3 overall, 1-1 MAC) and Central Michigan (9-4 overall, 1-0 MAC) have a combined 10 wrestlers currently in the NWCA/InterMat individual rankings.

The feature match of the meet will be at 197 pounds, when senior Kyle Cerminara (Lewiston, NY/Lewiston-Porter) puts his 33-match winning streak on the line as he faces the nation's top-ranked Wynn Michalak, who is 23-1, having only lost to fifth-ranked Joel Flaggert of Oklahoma. Cerminara, ranked fourth in the latest poll, is the nation's only undefeated wrestler at 197.

At 133 pounds, junior Mark Budd (Orrville, OH/Orrville), ranked 13th in the nation, will step onto the mat as the underdog for the first time since he beat No. 1-ranked Shawn Bunch of Edinboro on Dec. 9 when he faces 11th-ranked Jason Borrelli of Central Michigan.

At heavyweight, conference frontrunner senior Harold Sherrell (Liverpool, NY/Liverpool) will put his 30-5 record on the line against nationally-ranked and the MAC's second-ranked Bubba Gritter.

The Bulls’ expanded radio broadcast schedule this year includes broadcasts of all women’s basketball games - both home and away - on WLVL. In addition, WLVL will also be the home for up to five broadcasts of other UB athletic events during the spring seasons. Those events will be announced at a later date.

All UB radio broadcasts are available to listen to free of charge from the Bulls’ website via Teamline.
