BUFFALO, NY - Josh States (Lockport, NY/Lockport) of the University at Buffalo's wrestling team (8-2 overall, 2-1 MAC) was named the Pepsi Mid-American Conference Wrestler of the Week for the week of January 25.

States was noted for capturing the tournament title and helping UB place second out of 24 teams at the New York State Collegiates (1/21-22) hosted by Binghamton. States defeated the No. 1 seeded wrestler in the 184-pound weight bracket, Rob Ansdach (Hofstra), 8-4. States compiled a perfect 5-0 record during the two day event and improved his overall season record to 18-8.

States and the Bulls will be in action again on Friday (1/28) at MAC opponent Kent State and will also face non-conference Marquette as well.
