Bulls Down Hofstra and Boston College

The University at Buffalo wrestling team moved to 2-0 against East Coast Wrestling Association (ECWA) competition, defeating Hofstra 31-11 and Boston College 46-0. The Bulls (2-2/2-0) captured 17 of the 20 bouts wrestled, including all 10 against Boston College. Freshman 158-pounder Vince DeAugustine (Jeanette, PA/Hempfield) continued his hot streak by winning his sixth- and seventh-straight bouts by fall and technical fall respectively, raising his record to 17-7 on the season. Sophomore heavyweight Mike Garofalo has won eight of his last nine bouts, including 5-0 against Hofstra and by fall against Boston College, to improve to 9-4 on the year.

The Bulls are next in action on Saturday (1/10) when they host American and Pitt-Johnstown in Alumni Arena starting at 3:00 pm.
