UB Splits with Boston University and Rider

Stutzman becomes Bulls' winningest wrestler

The Bulls split a pair of East Coast Wrestling Association (ECWA) matches, defeating the Boston University Terriers 34-9 while losing to 20th-ranked Rider 21-9. Senior 142-pounder Jeromy McVige and freshmen 126-pounder Chad Caros and 158-pounder Vince DeAugustine each won both of their matches to lead UB. Senior 150-pounder John Stutzman became UB's all-time winningest wrestler when he captured his 92nd career win at UB against the Terriers. Stutzman passed former UB standout Bill Stanbro who earned All-American honors with his fourth-place finish at the 1989-90 NCAA Division II Championships.

UB will wrap up its 1997-98 home dual meet schedule on Saturday (2/21) when they host Duquesne in Alumni Arena at 5:00 pm.
