Coach Jim Lodes: “Marisa is versatile and well skilled. She should contribute in many ways immediately. We have high expectations for her becoming a factor for our success. ”
High School: Earned four letters and was a two-year captain for head coach Verlyn Rosenthal at Colorado Springs Christian...helped lead her team to a 31-0 record as a junior and a 29-2 mark as a senior...her team won district, regional, league and state titles in 2004, 2005 and 2006...was an All-State selection in 2006, as well as an All-State Tourney selection in 2005 and 2006...was named a Prepvolleyball.com Academic All-American in 2006 and was selected as the Best of the Best middle blockers in 2004, 2005 and 2006...also lettered for four seasons on the high school tennis team where she played number three singles for a year and number one singles for three years, qualifying for the states three times.
Personal: Born January 8, 1990...daughter of Charles and Connie...has one sister (Katrina) and three brothers (Chad, Zach and John)...nickname is Reese...chose UB over George Washington, Campbell, William and Mary and James Madison because of the combination of academics and volleyball, as well as the coaches and team...favorite foods are pineapple, peaches and mangos...served as the school’s team mascot for three years...if she could be any cartoon character it would be Stewie Griffin from Family Guy.
