2008:Saw action in 73 sets, but missed most of October due to injury... had 91 kills on the season, including a career-high 10 kills against Wright State (9/6)...finished fourth on the team in total blocks with a career-high seven blocks against Ohio (9/27)...had eight kills and three blocks against UM-Eastern Shore (9/12)...UB Scholar Athlete.

Previous College: Played in 82 games for Wyoming, finishing with 94 kills on the year...had a career-high eight kills in back-to-back matches against Morehead State and Kansas...finished the season with five solo blocks and 44 block assists, having a career-best six total blocks against Utah...had 12 digs on the year, including three against St. Peter’s College.

High School: A two-time letterwinner in volleyball and a second-team All-Jeffco Conference selection while attending Arvada West High School...helped her team in 2006 to an 11-10 overall record and a third place finish in the conference with a 7-3 mark...as a senior, she averaged 2.1 kills and 1.2 digs, while adding 27 solo blocks and 18 block assists...during her junior year, she tallied 43 kills, 11 digs, 19 block assists and nine solo blocks...was coached in high school by Debbie Pospicil...also played club volleyball with the Juggernaut Volleyball Club and the Elite 18 Team for two seasons...was coached by Tom Paszko.

Personal: Born June 7, 1989...daughter of Tom and Jane...full name is Kayla Marie Govier...has one sister (Jamie)...favorite athlete is Philip Rivers and favorite food is mashed potatoes...chose UB because of the coaches and the team...lists her dream as a college athlete is to go to the NCAA Tournament.
