BUFFALO, NY - The University at Buffalo volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision to Ohio tonight in Mid-American Conference action in Alumni Arena, 30-24, 30-23, 30-25. Junior Lindsay Matikosh (North Tonawanda, NY/North Tonawanda) led the Bulls with 10 kills and a match-high 15 digs.

The Bobcats (24-7, 14-3 MAC) entered the match ranked ninth in the NCAA's Mideast Region and tied with Akron for first place in the MAC's East Division standings. The match was played as part of a doubleheader with the UB men's basketball team who opened their 2002-03 season against Cornell following the volleyball contest.

Sophomore Molly Schrantz (Depew, NY/Lancaster) and freshman Katie Weekley (Dayton, OH/Chaminade-Julienne) added nine kills apiece to the Bulls' effort, and Schrantz tied her career high with five blocks while also contributing 17 assists. Junior Alexis Bouie (Albion, NY/Albion) added six kills and four blocks, and sophomore Kathryn Henry (Buffalo, NY/City Honors) finished the night with 11 digs.

The Bulls (9-22, 1-16 MAC) close out the 2002 season on Saturday, November 23 uwith a 5 pm match against Miami, OH in Alumni Arena.
