Volleyball Ends Season with 3-0 Loss to BGSUBUFFALO, NY - The University at Buffalo women's volleyball team concluded the year with a 4-28 overall record and an 0-18 conference mark after a 3-0 loss to Bowling Green in the final match of the 2000 season, held at Alumni Arena. The Falcons (21-8 overall, 12-6 MAC) are currently ranked 10th in the NCAA's Mid-East Region, and they move on to the Mid-American Conference Volleyball Tournament, beginning on Tuesday, November 21. Bowling Green won the match with 15-7, 15-6 and 15-1 wins in the first three games, led by eight kills and 12 blocks from junior Caty Rommeck. The Bulls were led by junior Keri Shiels (Baldwin, NY/Baldwin) with eight kills and seven digs, and junior Larissa LaCour (West Islip, NY/West Islip) added 26 assists and a team-high 14 digs. Freshman Lindsay Matikosh (North Tonawanda, NY/North Tonawanda) ended her rookie campaign with a seven-kill, seven-dig performance against the Falcons. Matikosh finished the season as UB's digs leader with 299 (2.65 per game). LaCour finished second with 267 digs (2.34 per game), and she led the Bulls with 1,040 assists (9.12 per game). Shiels had a team-leading 283 kills (2.80 per game) during the 2000 season.
