KENT, OH - The University at Buffalo volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision at Kent State tonight, 30-23, 30-18, 30-28. The loss dropped the Bulls’ record to 8-20 overall and 1-14 in the Mid-American Conference while the Golden Flashes improved to 10-12 overall and 7-8 in the MAC.

The Bulls were led by three players, senior Molly Schrantz (Depew, NY/Lancaster), junior Katie Weekley (Dayton, OH/Chaminade-Julienne) and freshman Tammy Jule (Regina Beach, Saskatchewan/Riffel), with seven kills apiece. Sophomore Nikki Morzenti (Safety Harbor, FL/Clearwater) added six kills and eight digs, and freshman libero Lizaiha Garcia (Dayton, OH/Beavercreek) had a team-high 10 digs. Junior setter Amy Brown (Pittsburgh, PA/Mt. Lebanon) finished with 20 assists, five digs and two blocks.

The Golden Flashes had a pair of players with double-doubles, led by Michelle Corniffe with 16 kills and 13 digs, both match highs. Danielle Holt added 10 kills and 11 digs, and Anne Butts tallied 44 assists.

The Bulls conclude the regular season tomorrow night with a 7 pm match at Bowling Green.
