Weekley Earns Academic Kudos

Volleyball co-captain named to Academic All-District Second Team

Katie Weekley
BUFFALO, NY - Katie Weekley (Dayton, OH/Chaminade-Julienne), a senior co-captain on the University at Buffalo women's volleyball team, was named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Second Team. The team is made up of 12 players from Division I programs from New England, New York and Pennsylvania.

Weekley has played in all 28 matches this season and leads the Bulls with 150 blocks and 29 service aces. She also ranks second in kills with 293. In addition, her 556 career blocks are the second most in school history. She is also closing in on 1,000 career kills (969). Only seven players in UB history have eclipsed the 1,000 kills mark.

A psychology major, Weekley sports a 3.83 grade point average. Last season, she was named to the Academic All-MAC squad.
