Volleyball Drops Four-Game Match at Kent State

Senior Lindsay Matikosh led the Bulls with 14 kills and 11 digs

KENT, OH - The University at Buffalo volleyball team dropped a four-game match at Kent State tonight to fall to 10-18 overall and 4-10 in the Mid-American Conference. Game scores were 16-30, 32-30, 30-25 and 30-16. The Bulls were led by senior Lindsay Matikosh (North Tonawanda, NY/North Tonawanda) with 14 kills and 11 digs.

Junior Molly Schrantz (Depew, NY/Lancaster) added 13 kills and 12 digs, and sophomore Katie Weekley (Dayton, OH/Chaminade-Julienne) also posted double digits in kills with 11 while also recording four blocks. Freshman Lauren Burd (York, PA/Central York) tied her career highs with seven kills and three digs and also added three blocks. Sophomore setter Amy Brown (Pittsburgh, PA/Mt. Lebanon) finished with 47 assists, seven digs and three blocks.

The Golden Flashes (12-11 overall, 8-6 MAC) were led by Danielle Holt with 27 kills and Kara Warnke and Ruth Ladurner-Schnitzer with 11 kills apiece.

The Bulls have two regular season matches remaining before the start of the MAC Tournament. Buffalo is at Marshall on Friday, November 14 and at Ohio on Saturday, November 15. Both matches begin at 7 pm.
