Volleyball Takes Ohio to Four GamesBUFFALO, NY - The University at Buffalo women's volleyball team battled the Ohio Bobcats in four games but could not come away with its first Mid-American Conference win of the season, losing 8-15, 15-13, 13-15, 3-15. Attack errors proved to be the difference as the Bulls committed 49 to Ohio's 24. The Bobcats entered the match as the top team in the MAC's East Division, and they improved their record to 18-9 overall and 11-5 in the conference. Buffalo falls to 4-22 overall and 0-14 in the MAC. Junior Keri Shiels (Baldwin, NY/Baldwin) and freshman Lindsay Matikosh (North Tonawanda, NY/North Tonawanda) both recorded double-doubles to lead the Bulls. Shiels finished with 15 kills and a match-high 21 digs, and Matikosh added 14 kills and 18 digs. Junior Larissa LaCour (West Islip, NY/West Islip) also turned in a solid performance with 45 assists and 12 digs. As a team, the Bulls posted a season-high 78 digs. Ohio senior Amber Merrill, the MAC's kills leader, led the Bobcats with 19 kills while freshman Lindsay Judice added 17 kills. The Bobcats had five players finish in double-digits in digs, and sophomore Tracy Binegar added 10 blocks. The Bulls are home again tomorrow afternoon hosting Miami (OH) at 3 p.m. at Alumni Arena.
