Bulls Fall To Rockets
Toledo ended up defeating UB, 30-21, 22-30, 30-28, 30-26 and out-hit the Bulls, .231 to .170. Jenna Mapé (Calgary, Alberta/Father Lacombe) led UB with 14 kills, while fellow senior Nikki Morzenti (Safety Harbor, FL/Clearwater) hit 13 kills on 35 swings with just two errors. Mapé and Morzenti both recorded double-doubles with 12 and 10 digs, respectively. Sophomore Claudia Neba (Aurora, CO/Smoky Hill/Rutgers) contributed with a solid match, hitting a match-high .364 (11-3-22). Neba also recorded two block assists. Sophomore Alyssa Fitchette (Watertown, NY/Watertown/Genesee CC) finished the night with a match-high seven total blocks, including one solo. Senior Brandie Clark (Medicine Hat,Alberta/Medicine Hat) added six total blocks, while sophomore Colleen Egan (Abingdon, MD/John Carroll/Temple) added five total blocks as well.
Junior Lizaiha Garcia (Dayton, OH/Beavercreek) led all Buffalo players with 15 digs and freshman Lauren Fensten (Centennial, CO/Smoky Hill) added 11 digs. Clark finished the evening with 40 assists. Toledo (7-19, 4-9 MAC) was led by three players with double-digit kills, including 19 kills from Emi Holsclaw and 17 kills from Kate Bean. Ashley Rucki had 20 digs, while Mallory Ladd had 55 assists to lead the Rocket offense. The Bulls remain on the road tomorrow night when they face Akron at 7:00 pm. UB defeated the Zips 3-0 earlier this season in Buffalo. |
