MUNCIE, IN -The University at Buffalo volleyball team was swept in a three-game match tonight by the Ball State Cardinals in Worthen Arena. Game scores were 30-15, 30-19 and 30-16. The Cardinals (16-6 overall, 9-1 Mid-American Conference) are currently ranked eighth in the Mideast Region according to the RichKern.com/AVCA Division I Regional Rankings. The loss drops the Bulls’ record to 7-17 overall and 0-11 in the MAC.

Buffalo failed to have a player reach double digits in kills for the third straight match while it hit just .055 as a team with 24 kills on 109 attacks with 18 errors. Senior Molly Schrantz (Depew, NY/Lancaster) led the Bulls with eight kills and nine digs. Freshman libero Lizaiha Garcia (Dayton, OH/Beavercreek) had a team-high 11 digs, and sophomore Nikki Morzenti (Safety Harbor, FL/Clearwater) had seven kills and nine digs.

For the Cardinals, Sarah Obras had a match-high 15 kills and Stephanie Keller had a match-high 22 digs.

The Bulls are next in action at Marshall on Sunday, October 31 at 3 pm.
