ATHENS, OH - The Ohio University volleyball team won its 10th match in a row and moved to a perfect 8-0 in the Mid-American Conference with a three-game sweep of the Bulls tonight at the Convocation Center, 30-17, 30-15, 30-15. The Bobcats entered the match ranked seventh in the Mideast according to the RichKern.com/AVCA Regional Rankings and 27th in the nation according to the USA Today/CSTV Coaches poll, both released earlier this week.

The Bobcats (16-2 overall, 8-0 MAC) controlled play at the net, recording a .330 hitting percentage while holding the Bulls to a -.096 mark. Ohio easily won games one and two, and it used an 11-3 run in game three to pull away after the Bulls stayed within two early on, 9-7. Melissa Griffin led Ohio with 14 kills on 18 attempts. Briana Adamovsky recorded 34 assists for the Bobcats while Michaele Blackburn had a match-high 18 digs.

Buffalo was led by junior Katie Weekley (Dayton, OH/Chaminade-Julienne) with five kills and sophomore Nikki Morzenti (Safety Harbor, FL/Clearwater) with three kills and seven digs.

The loss, Buffalo’s 10th in a row, dropped the Bulls’ record to 7-15 overall and 0-9 in the MAC. Buffalo is at Akron tomorrow night for a 7 pm match.
