Volleyball Loses to Marshall, 3-1

Redding posts career-high 15 digs

BUFFALO, NY - Junior Jessica Redding (Andover, MA/Eastern Connecticut State) posted a career-high 15 digs, and junior Larissa LaCour (West Islip, NY/West Islip) added 13 digs and 45 assists, but it was not enough to push the University at Buffalo volleyball team to a win at Marshall. The Thundering Herd (3-20 overall, 1-9 MAC) ended a 15-match losing streak with a 15-7, 15-10, 9-15, 15-10 win over the Bulls (4-18 overall, 0-11 MAC), who have now lost nine straight matches and remain winless in the Mid-American Conference.

Junior Keri Shiels (Baldwin, NY/Baldwin) had a productive afternoon with a team-high 16 kills and 11 digs, and freshman Lindsay Matikosh (North Tonawanda, NY/North Tonawanda) and junior Amelia Liddle (Toronto, Ontario/Leaside) added 10 kills apiece. Liddle also tied her career high with a match-high eight blocks, and sophomore Emily Dills (East Bethany, NY/University of San Francisco) contributed a career-high nine kills.

Buffalo is on the road for two more matches before returning to Alumni Arena for a six-match home stand. The Bulls play at Western Michigan on Friday, October 27 and at Kent State on Saturday, October 28. Both matches are set to begin at 7 pm.
