The Bulls got the first point of the match by virtue of a Bowling Green attack error, but the Falcons did not trail for the remainder of game one, taking the easy 30-10 victory thanks to a .407 hitting percentage and five kills from Chrissy Gothke.

The Falcons took an early 8-1 lead in game two, but the Bulls fought their way back into the game and completed a 5-0 run to take a 30-29 lead on a kill by senior Katie Weekley (Dayton, OH/Chaminade-Julienne). Buffalo led 31-30, but a kill by BGSU’s Meghan Mohr, a UB attack error and a kill by Gothke eventually gave the Falcons a 33-31 win. Bowling Green then rolled to a 30-20 win in game three to end the match.

The Bulls were led by junior Nikki Morzenti (Safety Harbor, FL/Clearwater) with 10 kills and Weekley with nine kills and four blocks. Junior Brandie Clark (Medicine Hat, Alberta/Medicine Hat) added eight kills, a match-high 14 digs and three blocks.

Gothke finished with a match-high 11 kills to lead the Falcons. Mohr added seven kills and four blocks, and Kendra Halm had five kills and a match-high six blocks. Bowling Green hit .248 in the match while the Bulls hit just .007, and the Falcons had 11 blocks compared to the Bulls’ four.

The Bulls are at Miami (OH) at 7 pm Saturday.
