Bulls Fall To Central Michigan, 3-0

Richelle Bigelow has second straight double figure kills game

MT. PLEASANT, MI – The University at Buffalo volleyball team’s five-match road trip stopped at Mt. Pleasant, MI as UB fell to the host Central Michigan Chippewas, 3-0, Saturday night at Rose Arena.

CMU took the match 30-13, 30-15, 30-22 as it outhit UB .386 to .059. Freshman Richelle Bigelow (Littleton, CO/Dakota Ridge) led the way for the Bulls for the second straight match as she had 10 kills on the evening. Sophomore Kelsey Lueders (Littleton, CO/Chatfield) had six kills and just two errors on 17 total attacks. Freshman Lindsey Schlegel (Lancaster, NY/Lancaster) added a match-high 21 assists and seven digs with a service ace. Senior Lizaiha Garcia (Dayton, OH/Beavercreek) led the way for UB with eight digs.

The Chippewas were led by 17 kills from Kate Fissel and 13 digs from Alexis Lonneman. Whitney Evers had seven of CMU’s 15 service aces.

The Bulls continue their five-match road trip this Friday as they travel to Kent State for a 7:00 pm match. UB will face nationally-ranked Ohio on Saturday.
