Bowling Green Rolls Past Bulls
From the beginning of the match, Bowling Green had the advantage and took the match easily, 30-16, 30-18, 30-14. The Falcons hit over .400 in each of the three games, including a .467 in the match-clinching third game. UB was unable to match its opponents hot-hitting, registering its highest total in game two, when it hit .207. UB was led by Jenna Mapé (Calgary, Alberta/Father Lacombe) who recorded a team-high 10 kills on the night. The senior outside hitter added five digs in the contest. Junior Lizaiha Garcia (Dayton, OH/Beavercreek) led all players with 17 digs. Senior setter Brandie Clark (Medicine Hat, Alberta/Medicine Hat) finished with a team-high 24 assists.
BGSU (20-2, 9-0 MAC) was led by Kendra Halm who hit a match-high .833, recording 16 kills on 18 swings, with just one error. Chelsey Meek finished with 12 digs, while Chrissy Gothke added a match-high 36 assists. Buffalo and Bowling Green entered tonight’s match as two of the top blocking teams in the conference, however Buffalo was able to record just one total block while Bowling Green managed five. UB remains at home tomorrow night as it continues its four-match home streak. UB will host Miami (OH) at 7:00 pm. The RedHawks defeated UB earlier this season, 3-0, in Oxford, OH. |
