Bulls Fall Short Against Eastern Michigan
EMU took the match 30-25, 30-26, 30-28, but the Bulls had opportunities in each of the three games on the evening. UB was led by freshman Richelle Bigelow (Littleton, CO/Dakota Ridge) who recorded a team-high 10 kills in her return to the court after missing the last 13 matches. Bigelow recorded the 10 kills with just one error on a match-high 35 attack attempts. Bigelow also had three digs and three service aces. Junior Claudia Neba (Aurora, CO/Smoky Hill/Rutgers) had nine kills and a match-high 14 digs, which were also a career best for Neba who also added three total blocks, including one solo. Neba also added two service aces. Freshman Kristin Bignell (Drayton, Ontario/Norwell District) had five kills in the middle and added four block assists.
Freshman Lindsey Schlegel (Lancaster, NY/Lancaster) did a good job setting up the UB offense as she had 32 assists on the evening. Schlegel also added nine digs, two block assists and a service ace. Senior Lizaiha Garcia (Dayton, OH/Beavercreek) had 13 digs on the evening. Sophomore Ellen Robertson (Middle Island, NY/Longwood) had eight digs and also added two service aces. Eastern Michigan was led by 15 kills from Becky Reenders and 14 digs from Abby Reenders. Kate Sulewski had 36 assists for the Eagles. The Bulls continue their five-match road trip at Central Michigan tomorrow night at 7:00 pm.
