ATHENS, OH – The University at Buffalo volleyball team was unable to take its momentum from its first conference road victory, falling to the nationally-ranked, Ohio Bobcats, 3-0, Friday night at the Convocation Center. The loss drops UB to 13-11 on the season and 2-6 in conference play.

The Bulls, who are the only MAC team to have taken a conference game from Ohio this year, fell to the Bobcats, 30-15, 30-10, 30-18. Senior Nikki Morzenti (Safety Harbor, FL/Clearwater) led the way for the Bulls, notching eight kills and nine digs on the evening. Jenna Mapé (Calgary, Alberta/Father Lacombe) also notched eight kills for UB with six digs. Junior Lizaiha Garcia (Dayton, OH/Beavercreek) finished the night with a team-high 10 digs.

Morzenti joined fellow senior Brandie Clark (Medicine Hat, Alberta/Medicine Hat) as each totaled a solo block on the night. Clark finished with a team-high 18 assists.

The host Bobcats used a strong hitting performance, out-hitting UB .427 to .077, including a .500 in the second game. Ohio was led by Stephanie Blackburn who had 14 kills on the night. Michaele Blackburn recorded 12 digs and Savanah Parra had 31 assists.

The Bulls wrap up a five-match road trip on Saturday night with a non-conference match at IPFW. The match is set to begin at 7:00 pm.
