Bulls Split Another Weekend Of MAC Play The University at Buffalo volleyball team split its matches this past weekend winning in a 3-2 thriller at Alumni Arena against Akron on Thursday night before falling 3-1 on the road to Ball State on Saturday night. The Bulls are continuing a streak of winning at least one match in each of the first three weekends of MAC play, the first time UB has done that since joining the MAC. Hornbaker Nearing 200 Kills Junior Marisa Hornbaker is closing in on 200 kills for the first time in her career as she currently sits at 197, a career-high for the outside hitter. Hornbaker is second in that category on the team, trailing only Dani Silvers, who currently has 246 kills on the season.
Block Party The Bulls had a season-high 20.5 total team blocks in their five set win over Akron on Thursday night. Kelsey Lueders had a career-high 11 total blocks, including four solos. Junior Kristin Bignell still leads the team in that category with 74 total blocks, including 10 solos. Lueders has 56 total blocks, with 10 solos, while Abby Niekamp adds 54 total blocks. Up Next The Bulls are home for a pair of matches this upcoming weekend. UB hosts Northern Illinois on Friday night in its annual “Dig Pink” event, while the Bulls host Western Michigan on Saturday night. Both matches are at 7:00 pm.
