Alexis Bouie

BUFFALO, NY - The University at Buffalo volleyball team saw its two-match Mid-American Conference winning streak come to an end with a 3-0 shutout at Toledo this afternoon, 30-23, 30-19, 31-29. Senior Alexis Bouie (Albion, NY/Albion) led the Bulls with 11 kills, and sophomore Katie Weekley (Dayton, OH/Chaminade-Julienne) added nine kills and a team-high three blocks.

Freshman Nikki Morzenti (Safety Harbor, FL/Clearwater) also finished with nine kills, and senior Lindsay Matikosh (North Tonawanda, NY/North Tonawanda) and junior Molly Schrantz (Depew, NY/Lancaster) each recorded a team-high eight digs. Sophomore setter Amy Brown (Pittsburgh, PA/Mt. Lebanon) finished the day with 34 assists.

Toledo (7-12 overall, 3-4 MAC) was led by Rachel Mohler with 15 kills, Kelsey Culver with 12 kills and Kate Bean with 11 kills.

The Bulls (7-11 overall, 2-3 MAC) will finish off the non-conference schedule with a 7 pm match at local rival Niagara on Wednesday, October 15. They then travel to Akron on Friday, October 17 for a 7 pm match before returning home to host Ball State at 2 pm on Sunday, October 19 in Alumni Arena.
