BUFFALO, NY - The University at Buffalo volleyball team proved to be no match for the Colgate Raiders tonight at Alumni Arena, thanks to a total team effort. The Bulls handily won games one and two by 30-16 and 30-18 scores and pulled out a 30-28 win in game three to sweep the Raiders and pick up their fourth victory of the season. Nine different Bulls recorded kills in the match, led by sophomore Alexis Bouie (Albion, NY/Albion) with nine. Bouie also added seven digs and a match-high eight blocks to the Bulls' effort, helping Buffalo outblock the Raiders by an 18.5 to eight margin. Bouie's eight blocks ties her career high and gives her a team-leading 44 blocks for the season, surpassing her 2000 total of 42 blocks. Freshman setter Airin Edrosolan (Newbury Park, CA/Newbury Park) finished the night with a career-high 22 assists.

The Bulls recorded seven team blocks in game one, with seniors Amelia Liddle (Toronto, Ontario/Leaside) and Heather Barfuss (Huntington, NY/John H. Glenn) teaming up for the Bulls' final two points of the game. Buffalo's dominance continued in game two with the Bulls jumping out to a 10-0 lead before the Raiders got on the board. Sophomore Lindsay Matikosh (North Tonawanda, NY/North Tonawanda) and freshman Molly Schrantz (Depew, NY/Lancaster) each recorded four kills in game two to lead the Buffalo attack. The Raiders stole some momentum in game three and led by as many as four points, 23-19, before Buffalo mounted a comeback to complete the sweep. Freshman Katie Henry (Buffalo, NY/City Honors) led the Bulls with four kills in game three, and her service ace tied the score at 26-26 at a pivotal point in the game.
