Bulls Fall To Hot-Hitting Falcons

BOWLING GREEN, OH – The University at Buffalo volleyball team met a hot-hitting Bowling Green team as they fell, 3-0, Saturday afternoon at Anderson Arena. Bowling Green capped off the afternoon by hitting .722 in the third game.

The Falcons took the match 30-11, 30-19, 30-13 as they hit .553 for the day, opposed to a .063 hitting percentage for the Bulls. Sophomore Kelsey Lueders (Littleton, CO/Chatfield) led the Bulls with six kills, while junior Danielle Cota (Syracuse, NY/Westhill/Roberts Wesleyan) recorded her first kills in a Buffalo uniform. Fellow junior Kate Love (Pittsford, NY/Pittsford Sutherland/Temple) added four kills as did freshman Kristin Bignell (Drayton, Ontario/Norwell District), who added a block assist. Senior Lizaiha Garcia (Dayton, OH/Beavercreek) had a team-high nine digs for UB, while freshman Lindsey Schlegel (Lancaster, NY/Lancaster) had 18 assists on the afternoon.

Bowling Green got 13 kills from Kendra Halm and 10 kills from Corey Domek. Sam Fish added 26 assists and Chelsey Meek had 12 digs.

With a three-match road swing all wrapped up, UB returns home on Friday to host Western Michigan in a 7:00 pm match. The Bulls will then host Northern Illinois on Saturday night.
