Volleyball Falls to Kent State

Lindsay Matikosh posts seventh straight double-double in kills and digs

BUFFALO, NY - The University at Buffalo volleyball team fell to 8-9 overall and 0-3 in the Mid-American Conference with a four-game loss at Kent State tonight. The Bulls lost the first game by a 30-15 score before tying the match up with a 30-27 win in game two, but the Golden Flashes (8-6 overall, 2-1 MAC) ended the match with 30-20 and 30-25 wins in games three and four.

Junior Lindsay Matikosh (North Tonawanda, NY/North Tonawanda) led the Bulls with 10 kills and 10 digs, marking the seventh straight match she has recorded a double-double in kills and digs. Freshman Katie Weekley (Dayton, OH/Chaminade-Julienne) added nine kills and three blocks, and sophomore Molly Schrantz (Depew, NY/Lancaster) finished the night with eight kills and five digs. Freshman Amy Brown (Pittsburgh, PA/Mt. Lebanon) recorded 32 setter assists.

The Bulls host Northern Illinois on Friday, October 4 and Western Michigan on Saturday, October 5 in Mid-American Conference matchups at Alumni Arena. Both matches are set to begin at 7 pm.
