Junior Sarah Streib (Baldwinsville, NY/Baldwinsville) gave UB a spark off the bench as she finished with a team-high two services aces and chipped in three digs. UB outblocked its opponents by a six-to-three margin, receiving four block assists from sophomores Claudia Neba (Aurora, CO/Smoky Hill/Rutgers) and Rachel Smith (Churchville, NY/Churchville). Ball State (6-10, 3-1 MAC) was led by a match-high 15 kills from Kelly Cochran, who was one of three Cardinals with double-digit kills. Amanda McCormick had 21 digs on the night, while Cochran completed the double-double with 17 digs. UB now hits the road for five straight matches, beginning at Miami (OH) on Friday, Oct. 6 at 7:00 pm. The Bulls then head to Bowling Green the following day for a 3:00 pm contest with the Falcons. |
