Ball State Upends Bulls, 3-0

Lizaiha Garcia records 15 digs in the match

MUNCIE, IN – The University at Buffalo volleyball team traveled to Ball State for a Mid-American Conference match, but was unable to defeat the host Cardinals as the Bulls fell, 3-0, Saturday night at Worthen Arena. The Bulls are now 1-3 in conference play.

Ball State won the match 30-17, 30-17, 30-25 as it hit .211, compared to a .075 hitting percentage for UB. Junior Claudia Neba (Aurora, CO/Smoky Hill/Rutgers) led the Bulls with seven kills, while sophomore Kelsey Lueders (Littleton, CO/Chatfield) added six kills on the evening. Freshman Lindsey Schlegel (Lancaster, NY/Lancaster) had 25 assists, while Neba and senior Lizaiha Garcia (Dayton, OH/Beavercreek) each recorded double-digit digs with 10 and 15, respectively.

The Bulls hit the road this up coming weekend for a pair of matches against MAC East opponents. UB heads to Miami (OH) on Friday night at 7:00 pm and will then play a 3:00 pm match the following day against Bowling Green.
