BUFFALO, NY - The University at Buffalo women's volleyball team lost a 3-0 match to the top team in the Mid-American Conference, Northern Illinois, at Alumni Arena. The Huskies entered the match with a league-best 10-2 record and they quickly earned their 11th victory of the season by scores of 15-6, 15-0, 15-5 over the Bulls.

Buffalo was led by freshman Lindsay Matikosh (North Tonawanda, NY/North Tonawanda) with a team-high seven kills and five digs. Junior Keri Shiels (Baldwin, NY/Baldwin) added six kills while juniors Sasha Courbat (Cedar Falls, IA/Kirkwood Community College) and Heather Barfuss (Huntington, NY/John H. Glenn) finished with five kills apiece. Junior Larissa LaCour (West Islip, NY/West Islip) posted 19 assists from her setter position.

Buffalo (3-9 overall, 0-2 MAC) travels to nearby Canisius College on Wednesday, September 27 for a 7 pm match before resuming MAC play at Eastern Michigan on Friday, September 29.
