The third game was highly contested by the Purple Eagles as they took an early 10-3 advantage. However, sophomore Alyssa Fitchette (Watertown, NY/Watertown/Genesee CC), who is known for her ability to block, served for the Bulls and led them to four straight points. After Niagara tacked on a point, freshman Lauren Fensten (Centennial, CO/Smoky Hill) also served UB to four consecutive points and a 13-11 lead. Niagara fought back and took a 24-21 advantage, but the Bulls closed out the match on a 9-2 run as junior Sarah Streib (Baldwinsville, NY/Baldwinsville) served UB to the last four points, including a service ace to end the match.

For the match, senior Jenna Mapé (Calgary, Alberta/Father Lacombe) led UB with a match-high 11 kills. Junior Lizaiha Garcia (Dayton, OH/Beavercreek) finished with a match-best 13 digs and senior setter Brandie Clark (Medicine Hat, Alberta/Medicine Hat) had a team-high 24 assists. Additionally, seven different UB players recorded service aces.

The Bulls also managed to outblock their opponents, 13-5, led by a trio of newcomers. Freshman Kelsey Lueders (Littleton, CO/Chatfield) finished with a match-high seven total blocks, while Fitchette had six and sophomore Claudia Neba (Aurora, CO/Smoky Hill/Rutgers) had five.
