SYRACUSE, NY - After more than a week off, the University at Buffalo volleyball team got back into action tonight at in-state rival Syracuse where the Orangewomen (5-3) pulled out a close four-game victory (30-21, 30-25, 27-30, 30-26) to drop the Bulls' record to 2-5 overall. Buffalo was led by sophomore Alexis Bouie (Albion, NY/Albion) who posted a career-high 13 kills in addition to a team-high five blocks.

Sophomore Lindsay Matikosh (North Tonawanda, NY/North Tonawanda) also posted a career high with seven service aces, just one away from tying the all-time school record for a four-game match. She also added eight kills and eight digs to the Bulls' effort, while freshman Molly Schrantz (Depew, NY/Lancaster) and sophomore Becky Ashare (Coram, NY/Longwood) added 10 kills apiece. Freshman Katie Henry (Buffalo, NY/City Honors) had a career-high 11 digs, and senior setter Larissa LaCour (West Islip, NY/West Islip) also recorded 11 digs to go along with 44 assists.

The Bulls (2-5 overall, 0-0 MAC) are on the road this weekend to begin the Mid-American Conference portion of their schedule. Buffalo plays at Marshall on Friday, September 21 at 7 pm and at Ohio on Saturday, September 22 at 7 pm.
