Bulls Wrap Up Play At Coastal Carolina Invitational
After falling behind in the first two games, UB charged to a victory in game three as it scored seven of the first nine points in the game and never looked back. The Bulls ended up winning the third game 30-20, but Gardner-Webb completed the victory with a 30-19 victory in game four.
The Bulls were led by nine kills from Kelsey Lueders (Littleton, CO/Chatfield) as she did not record an error in 21 attacks. Her fellow middle blocker, Kristin Bignell (Drayton, Ontario/Norwell District) had seven kills and no errors on 14 attack attempts. Freshman Lindsey Schlegel (Lancaster, NY/Lancaster) finished the match with 25 assists and a team-high 11 digs. Senior Sarah Streib (Baldwinsville, NY/Baldwinsville) finished with 10 digs and added four kills on the day. The Bulldogs had a balanced attach as four different players had double-digit kills on the afternoon. Gardner-Webb also finished with four players in double figures in digs. The Bulls now turn their attention to conference play which they begin on Friday. UB will host nationally-ranked Ohio at Alumni Arena at 7:00 pm. |
