Volleyball Loses at Northwestern Invitational

Bulls drop three games to Cleveland State

BUFFALO, NY - The University at Buffalo women's volleyball team lost its opening game of the Northwestern Invitational, falling to Cleveland State in three games. The Vikings pulled out 16-14 wins in the opening two games before ending the match with a 15-5 win in game three.

The Bulls' attack was led by freshman Lindsay Matikosh (North Tonawanda, NY/North Tonawanda), who had a team-high nine kills to go along with a team-high nine digs. Junior Larissa LaCour (West Islip, NY/West Islip) posted 39 assists, seven kills, seven digs and three blocks. Juniors Heather Barfuss (Huntington, NY/John H. Glenn) and Amelia Liddle (Toronto, Ontario/Leaside) and sophomore Emily Dills (East Bethany, NY/University of San Francisco) also contributed seven kills apiece.

Buffalo (2-6 overall) will be looking to pick up its third win of the season when the Northwestern Invitational continues on Saturday. The Bulls will play Northwestern at Noon and Towson at 4:00 pm.
