Bulls Drop Pair at Coastal Carolina Invitational

In the first match against Delaware, the Blue Hens took the match 30-19, 27-30, 30-20, 30-17. UB had two players in double figure kills as Claudia Neba (Aurora, CO/Smoky Hill/Rutgers) had 11 kills, while freshman Marisa Hornbaker (Colorado Springs, CO/Colorado Springs Christian) had 10 kills. Senior Lizaiha Garcia (Dayton, OH/Beavercreek) had a match-high 26 digs as she collected 41 on the day. Neba also added four block assists for UB.

In the evening match, the host Chanticleers took the match 30-21, 31-29, 30-20 as UB had its best chance in the second game when it hit .302 for the game. Freshmen Kristin Bignell (Drayton, Ontario/Norwell District) had seven kills as six different UB players recorded kills on for the match. Freshman Lindsey Schlegel (Lancaster, NY/Lancaster) had 23 assists in the match and finished with 53 on the day.

The Bulls wrap up player at the tournament tomorrow at 11:00 am as they face Gardner-Webb. An All-Tournament team will be selected following Saturday’s action.
