SYRACUSE, NY - The University at Buffalo volleyball team earned its third victory of the season in convincing fashion with a 3-0 sweep of Colgate in the opening match of the Syracuse Invitational tonight, 30-27, 30-23, 30-22. The Bulls were led by sophomore Kathryn Henry (Buffalo, NY/City Honors) who posted career highs in both kills (16) and service aces (seven). Henry's 16 kills came on 27 attack attempts, giving her a .444 hitting percentage for the match.

Junior Lindsay Matikosh (North Tonawanda, NY/North Tonawanda) also posted double digits in kills with 14, and freshman Amy Brown (Pittsburgh, PA/Mt. Lebanon) finished the night with 39 assists. Sophomore Molly Schrantz (Depew, NY/Lancaster) added seven kills and seven digs, and junior Alexis Bouie (Albion, NY/Albion) recorded six kills and a match-high five blocks.

The Bulls (3-5 overall) take on Brown at 11 am and the host Orangewomen at 7 pm tomorrow to conclude the Syracuse Invitational.
