Facing its toughest opposition to date, the University at Buffalo volleyball team played well in spurts and better than the scores indicated at the Washington State Tournament last weekend where it dropped matches to Idaho by a 3-0 score (30-26, 30-20, 31-29) and to Washington State (30-23, 30-24, 24-30, 30-25) and Oral Roberts (30-22, 30-26, 22-30, 30-18) both by 3-1 scores. The Bulls were led by Katie Weekley (Dayton, OH/Chaminade-Julienne) for the second straight weekend. The senior averaged 3.36 kills per game, while hitting a team-high .360, and 1.45 blocks per game in the three matches. Weekley had a team-high 14 kills and a match-high nine blocks against Oral Roberts, and she added a team-high 15 kills and four blocks against the host Cougars. Junior Nikki Morzenti (Safety Harbor, FL/Clearwater) posted a double-double against WSU with 10 kills and a team-high 15 digs, and she recorded a team-high 15 kills against Idaho. Morzenti Reaches 700 Mark in Career Kills Morzenti surpassed the 700 mark for career kills at the Washington State Tournament over the weekend. Morzenti currently has 710 kills and 574 digs in her career, putting her well on her way to becoming just the fifth player in UB volleyball history to reach the 1,000 mark in both statistical categories. Morzenti currently leads the Bulls with 91 kills (3.14 per game) and ranks second on the team with 88 digs (3.03 per game) so far this season. Bulls Set More Career Highs
