BUFFALO, NY - The University at Buffalo volleyball team concluded the Western New York Invitational with a 3-2 win over Army and a 3-0 shutout of Colgate on Saturday in Alumni Arena. The Bulls were undefeated in their three matches in the tournament and improved to 4-1 overall on the season. Senior Katie Weekley (Dayton, OH/Chaminade-Julienne) was the Bulls' selection to the All-Tournament Team after averaging 2.91 kills per game with a .377 hitting percentage and 1.36 blocks per game in UB's three matches.

In their first match of the day, the Bulls pulled out a dramatic 3-2 win over Army, 30-18, 30-24, 34-36, 27-30, 15-10, led by five players in double digits in kills and three with double-doubles in kills and digs. After Buffalo won games one and two, the Black Knights (1-1) tied the match at two games apiece with an emotional 36-34 win in game three and a 30-27 win in game four. Army could not keep the momentum going in the deciding fifth game, however, as the Bulls controlled play from the start before ending the game and the match on a service ace by sophomore Lizaiha Garcia (Dayton, OH/Beavercreek).
