Volleyball Falls to Cleveland State

Bulls are 2-2 on the year, will participate in Illinois-Chicago Invite this weekend

CLEVELAND, OH - The University at Buffalo volleyball team fell to 2-2 on the season with a three-game loss at Cleveland State tonight by scores of 30-25, 30-23 and 30-23.

Juniors Lindsay Matikosh (North Tonawanda, NY/North Tonawanda) and Alexis Bouie (Albion, NY/Albion) led the Bulls' attack with eight kills apiece, and Matikosh also added a team-high nine digs while Bouie added a team-high four blocks. Bouie's eight kills came on just 15 attempts, giving her a .467 hitting percentage for the match and a team-leading .349 hitting percentage for the season. Sophomore Molly Schrantz (Depew, NY/Lancaster) and freshman Katie Weekley (Dayton, OH/Chaminade-Julienne) both finished with five kills on the night, and freshman Amy Brown (Pittsburgh, PA/Mt. Lebanon) had a team-high 18 assists.

The Bulls next travel to Chicago, IL to participate in the Illinois-Chicago Invite this weekend. Buffalo takes on host UIC at 8:30 pm on Friday, September 6 and Iowa and Binghamton at Noon and 6 pm, respectively, on Saturday, September 7.
