Matikosh led the Bulls to a 2-2 record and was an All-Tournament Team selection to open the 2003 season at the Western New York Tournament last weekend. In Buffalo's four matches, she averaged 4.44 kills and 3.38 digs with a .338 hitting percentage. She also set a school record for hitting percentage in a four-game match (.657) in a 3-1 win over Siena, compiling 23 kills on 35 attempts with no errors. Matikosh posted double-doubles in kills and digs in three of the Bulls' four matches over the weekend. She began the year with 17 kills and 10 digs in a win over North Carolina State, then had 16 digs to go along with her 23 kills against Siena and ended the tournament with 16 kills and 20 digs against Syracuse.

The MAC East Player of the Week honor is the second of Matikosh's career. She was named co-East Division Player of the Week on September 23, 2002.

Matikosh and the Bulls (2-2) will participate in the Duke Classic this coming weekend with matches against Southern Illinois at 5 pm on Friday, September 5 and against Duke at 12:30 pm and UNC-Charlotte at 5 pm on Saturday, September 6.
