BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo volleyball team won its third straight match and its home-opener, sweeping Quinnipiac, 3-0, Friday night at Alumni Arena. The match was the first of the 2006 Western New York Invitational.

Mapé also finished with eight kills on the evening and contributed with a block assist. Freshman Lauren Fensten (Centennial, CO/Smoky Hill) also had four service aces and five digs.

After taking care of the Bobcats in the first game, the UB offense really shined in game two, putting forth a performance where it hit a .522 (13-1-23). Fitchette led the Bulls in that game, hitting an .833 with five kills on six attempts.
