UB Volleyball Adds Assistant CoachesBUFFALO, NY University at Buffalo head volleyball coach Nadine Lilavois has announced the addition of Joe Fisher and Todd Kamenash to her staff as assistant coaches for the 2001 season.
A 1995 graduate of Brockport, Fisher also earned a master's degree in physical education with a specialization in exercise physiology from SIUE in 1998. He also served as the event coordinator at SIUE from 1999 to 2001, administering various state and national track and field events including the USA Track and Field Junior Nationals and the 1998 and 2001 NCAA Division II Track and Field Championships. While at UB, he will serve as the primary recruiting coordinator as well as assisting with practices and handling other administrative duties. Kamenash brings a long-time association with the University at Buffalo and a history of volleyball playing and coaching success to the Bulls' staff in his first year as an assistant coach. Kamenash is an alumnus of UB, earning his bachelor's degree in business administration in 1996 and completing a master's degree in college student services/development in 1998. While a student at UB, he competed on the men's volleyball club team for three years. In addition to playing volleyball at UB, Kamenash also interned in the UB Athletic Department from 1995 to 1998 and is currently an Assistant Ombudsman in the Office of Judicial Affairs at the University. Kamenash was the head women's volleyball coach at Niagara County Community College in 2000, and he has also coached various age groups in the local Cheetah Volleyball Club program since 1998. In addition, he was a founding member of the Northwestern Volleyball Club program for boys and has also served as an assistant coach with the Western women's open volleyball team at the Empire State Games and as the head JV coach and assistant Varsity boy's coach at St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute. At UB, Kamenash will primarily assist with on-court coaching, practices, skills and technique training and video and game review. "I'm excited about the new coaching staff we have in place with Joe and Todd," said Lilavois. "Both will add a new dimension to the program in terms of their knowledge of the game, teaching ability, enthusiasm and dedication to the sport. They are both very excited about working at UB and will add to the family atmosphere that we are trying to establish." |
