BUFFALO, NY – Fourth-year head coach Jim Lodes has announced his schedule for the upcoming 2008 season. The Bulls will take part in four tournaments and will have 14 non-conference matches in all before beginning their 16-match conference schedule.

The Bulls will begin the season at the Air Force Invitational on Aug. 31 where they will play Southern Mississippi and Kennesaw State on Sunday and they will play Air Force on Mon., Sep. 1. The tournament at Air Force will serve as a homecoming for UB’s five players from Colorado.

The following weekend, UB will head to the Albany Classic where it will play the host Great Danes on Fri., Sep. 5. The Following day, the Bulls will face Connecticut and Wright State. From there, the Bulls will host seven of their final eight non-conference games.

The Bulls host Canisius on Sep. 10 and during the weekend of Sep. 12-13, the Bulls will host the University at Buffalo Ramada Invitational. The Bulls will host Maryland-Eastern Shore, Butler and Maine. After a quick trip to Niagara on Sep. 16, the Bulls will host the University at Buffalo Hotel Indigo Classic on the weekend of Sep. 19-20. At that tournament, UB will host High Point, St. Francis (NY) and Davidson.

“I am very excited about our non-conference schedule,” said Lodes. “To have the opportunity to get five of our players back to their home state is amazing and I am also looking forward to hosting two tournaments right here at UB. I think we have scheduled the right opponents that will get us ready for play in the Mid-American Conference.”

Buffalo’s Mid-American Conference schedule will begin on the weekend of Friday, September 26 and Saturday, September 27 when the Bulls travel to Kent State and Ohio, respectively. The 16-match conference slate will see the Bulls play each member of the East Division (Akron, Bowling Green, Kent State, Miami and Ohio) twice, both home and away, and each member of the West Division once (at home against Ball State, Central Michigan and Eastern Michigan and on the road against Northern Illinois, Toledo and Western Michigan). The Bulls end the regular season with four straight matches on the road, culminating at Miami (OH) on Sat., Nov. 15.

For the sixth season, every MAC school will qualify for the Mid-American Conference Tournament, and first-round matches will take place on Tuesday, November 18 on the campus sites of the higher seeds. The quarterfinals, semifinals and final match will be on Friday, November 21, Saturday, November 22 and Sunday, November 23 in Toledo, OH.
