Bulls Fall to CanisiusCanisius foiled Buffalo head coach Bob Maxwell's chance for his 400th career victory in a non-conference match this past Wednesday night at Alumni Arena. Canisius (17-13) got off to a convincing start as they captured the first game, 15-3. Buffalo quickly bounced back in the second game winning 15-6. But, the tables continued to turn throughout the match with Canisius grabbing game three, 15-10, Buffalo snatched game four, 15-3 and finally for the match Canisius won 15-10 in game five. Despite the loss, sophomore outside hitter Rebecca Meade (Selden, NY/Newfield) connected on 13 kills and grabbed 11 digs. Senior Kathy Brinkworth (Lakeview, NY/Frontier) had 12 kills and 16 digs in the losing effort. Wednesday's game was Buffalo's last before they begin Mid-Continent Conference Tournament play on Nov. 21-22 at Alumni Arena. The Bulls claimed the No. 1 seed in the East Division and will face UMKC (West seed #2 seed) while Oral Roberts (West #1 seed) will play Valparaiso (East #2 seed) on Friday, Nov. 21. |
