Career at UB 2007-08: Went 6-1 in singles play and 6-3 in doubles action during the
fall. Reached the doubles semifinal at the Army Invitational in her first
collegiate tournament. Finished second in the Flight “B” doubles at the Bucknell
Invitational with Diana Toia. Won the Flight “D” consolation bracket at Bucknell.
Took the Flight “B” doubles title with Toia at the Can-Am Invitational.
Prior to UB Earned four letters and was a two-year captain for her father, head coach
Selwyn Mitchell, at Bishop Kearny High School. Played first singles and was
undefeated in her career until the first round of the state tournament. Was the
Most Valuable Player for four years and was a two-year Player of the Year. Was
also a sprinter on the track and field team.
Personal Born August 2, 1989. Daughter of Selwyn Mitchell and Edith Jones. Has one
brother, Sheldon Mitchell. Favorite foods are ice cream and chicken. Favorite
athlete is Serena Williams. Plans on majoring in business management with goal of
becoming a corporate lawyer.
